Get involved
Pray, serve, come or support: four ways to be part of what God is doing in the Amazon. Any of them can begin with a conversation.
Pray
Sustain the mission from wherever you are: your prayer reaches the farthest community on the river.
Information
- What to pray for?
- That Christ’s request be fulfilled: that every language and nation hear Him. For the unity of the JUCUM Leticia family. That, as a base, we keep being a bridge of connection for the nations. For the translators and the communities receiving the Word in their language. For pastors and leaders. For the missionary families and the teams that serve.
- How to stay informed?
- Follow us on Instagram (@ywam.let) and write to us to receive news from the base.
Serve
Your gifts have a place here: health, music, cooking, building, teaching… Put what you know how to do at the service of others.
Information
- What skills are needed?
- There is room for every gift: health, teaching, music, arts and crafts, maintenance, cooking, construction, technology and work with children. What matters most is a heart ready to serve.
- Volunteering and temporary service
- You can serve for as long as you have available: in brigades, trips to communities, support at the base or the schools. Tell us how much you can give and we will find together where it fits.
- Requirements
- Willingness to serve and live in community, teamwork and respect for Indigenous cultures. To take the DTS you must be 18 years old.
- How to start?
- Write to us, tell us about your gifts and availability, and we will help you find where to serve.
Come
Come and live the mission: serve alongside the team, sail to the communities and discover the Amazon up close.
Information
- What is a short-term mission?
- A missionary experience of flexible length, depending on each person’s or team’s availability. You can join a medical brigade, go out on an evangelistic outing to an Indigenous community or help with maintenance and work at the base.
- Length and dates
- Flexible, depending on your availability: there is no fixed length or required dates.
- Requirements
- A desire to serve, willingness to live in community and respect for cultures. Travel insurance and the yellow fever vaccine (given at least 10 days beforehand) are recommended. Tell us your age and your team’s, and we will guide you according to the experience.
- Preparation
- Prayer, a conversation with the team beforehand and learning the basics of the mission and the Amazon context. We walk with you before you travel.
- Activities
- Medical brigades, evangelistic outreaches to Indigenous communities, help with base maintenance, activities with children and work alongside the base team.
- Everything ready for your arrival
- Our team prepares everything to welcome you: lodging, meals and transportation. We can offer you a complete service; just contact us and we will tell you what it would look like for your experience and what it would cost.
- What to bring
- Lightweight quick-dry long-sleeve clothing, a rain jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable shoes and boots for wet areas, a flashlight, a water bottle, personal medicine, ID or passport and travel insurance. And a Bible and a willing heart.
- How to apply
- Write to us by WhatsApp, email or the contact form, tell us what interests you and we will guide you step by step.
Support
Your support keeps the boat on the river, the base standing and leaders in training.
Information
- General support
- Your support sustains the life of the base and the missionary work in the Amazon: the boat to reach the communities, the upkeep of the base and the training of leaders.

- You can support specific projects: the medical brigades, Explosión, Bible distribution and building churches in the communities.
- Missionary support
- You can stand with the base’s missionary families through prayer and support. Write to us and we will tell you how.

- How to give
- For now there is no general donation link. Write to us and we will tell you how to give.
