Medical brigades

One week a year of free medical care and the gospel in a different community.

Description

Every year, for one week, JUCUM Leticia travels with health and mission teams to a different Amazon community (Colombian, Peruvian or Brazilian) to serve it in a whole-person way. Specialists from different areas of health always come along, with their equipment and everything needed: general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics and more.

Medicine is given away and donations are provided for the whole family. During the days of care and after them, evangelistic work is carried out; there is a seminar for the community’s pastors, activities for children all day long and, at the close of each day, a crusade where Bibles are given to the entire community. We work alongside partner teams, mainly from Arkansas (USA). The 2026 brigade reached Puerto Nariño, Amazonas, with teams from the United States, Mexico, Bogotá and JUCUM Leticia.

Caring for health is loving the way Jesus loved

“I was sick and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36). We care for the body with excellence and the heart with the hope of the gospel: for the Christian faith, health is a way of serving God by serving people.
